BNU Enhances Practical Training for Veterinary Medicine Students with a Field Visit to "Obour Farm"

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Tamer Samir, President of Benha National University (BNU), and Prof. Dr. Hussein El-Maghraby, Vice President for Academic Affairs, the university organized an applied field visit for students of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine to "Obour Farm for Agricultural Investment and Animal Production". The visit comes as part of the university's commitment to enhancing practical training, bridging academic study with labor market demands, and equipping students with essential professional expertise.

Prof. Dr. Tamer Samir, President of BNU, emphasized that practical training serves as a fundamental pillar in preparing qualified graduates endowed with both scientific knowledge and professional skills. He highlighted the university’s keenness to strengthen cooperation with productive institutions and provide genuine training opportunities for students, thereby contributing to the development of cadres capable of innovation, keeping pace with job market dynamics, and supporting the national economy.

For his part, Prof. Dr. Hussein El-Maghraby, Vice President for Academic Affairs, stated that field visits play a key role in linking theoretical knowledge with practical application and providing students with the experience needed to navigate diverse work environments. He reiterated the university's dedication to developing its education and training framework in line with the latest scientific and technological advancements.

The visit was conducted under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Hassan Khalil, Director of Veterinary Medicine Programs, as part of a series of field training initiatives implemented by the faculty. This stems from the vital role of hands-on application in honing students' skills, providing professional qualification, and fostering distinguished veterinary professionals capable of meeting market developments and advancing livestock development.

The program included an immersive field experience into the farm’s operational workflow, covering health and veterinary care practices, reproductive management protocols, herd management, and newborn livestock care. Additionally, students were introduced to digital applications and data management systems used to monitor production performance and optimize livestock efficiency.
