Benha National University Hosts the Meeting of the Supreme Committee for Continuous Professional Development in Veterinary Medicine at the Egyptian Health Council

The Supreme Committee for Continuous Professional Development in Veterinary Medicine at the Egyptian Health Council held its meeting at Benha National University, chaired by Dr. Hussein El-Maghraby, Chairman of the Committee and Vice President of Benha National University for Academic Affairs. The meeting was attended by Dr. Fikry Hussein, Secretary of the Veterinary Studies Sector Committee at the Supreme Council of Universities, Dr. Maha El-Ashmawy, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Mansoura University, and Colonel Veterinary Doctor Dr. El-Sayed Afifi.

At the beginning of the session, Dr. Hussein El-Maghraby welcomed the attendees. The meeting discussed the standards and requirements for institutional accreditation of institutions and centers seeking accreditation from the Egyptian Health Council to provide certified training programs for veterinarians to achieve continuous professional development. These standards include governance, the effectiveness of training and education processes, and data and information management.

Additionally, the importance of submitting a semi-annual training plan and establishing a specialized unit equipped to manage training programs within the institution applying for accreditation was highlighted.

The meeting also emphasized the necessity of organizing Training of Trainers (TOT) courses in this field. At the end of the meeting, the committee conducted an inspection tour of Benha National University.
