Benha National University’s Participation in a Medical Awareness Campaign in Collaboration with the "Haya Karima" Foundation in Kom Ashfin, Qalyub Center
Benha National University, in collaboration with the Haya Karima Foundation, participated in a medical awareness campaign in Kom Ashfin, Qalyub Center. This initiative is part of the university's continuous efforts to contribute to presidential initiatives aimed at improving healthcare in remote areas and underprivileged villages.
Professor Tamer Samir, President of Benha National University, emphasized the importance of participating in such initiatives and Haya Karima convoys. This national initiative aims to improve living standards in rural areas across Egypt by providing various services, including healthcare and awareness programs. It also offers direct support to residents by providing medical examinations and free treatment, striving for comprehensive and sustainable development as part of national efforts to reduce poverty and enhance quality of life in these regions.
During the campaign, free medical examinations were conducted for over 85 patients in various specialties, including internal medicine, pediatrics, and surgery. A team of volunteer specialized doctors diagnosed cases and prescribed appropriate treatments.
Professor Tamer Samir also noted that the campaign did not only focus on medical services but also provided free treatment and medications to all examined patients. This reflects the university’s commitment to improving healthcare services in local communities.
Coinciding with the celebration of the October War Victory, university students organized entertainment activities for children, including drawing and coloring competitions. Art supplies were distributed, and children were encouraged to draw national symbols, providing them with an enjoyable experience while fostering a sense of patriotism and national pride.
The university president highlighted the importance of raising awareness about the October War Victory, which is a crucial part of strengthening national identity and historical awareness among children. Educating them about the heroism of the Egyptian army in the 1973 war and the significance of these victories in restoring national dignity and liberating the land helps instill values of unity and teamwork. These activities contribute to deepening their love for their country and increasing awareness of the challenges Egypt has overcome to maintain its sovereignty and independence.
Professor Mahmoud Shakl, Vice President of the University for Employment, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship, emphasized the importance of collaboration between educational institutions and the local community. He praised the vital role of the Haya Karima Foundation in supporting such initiatives that benefit society.
Additionally, Professor Ayman Samir, Director of the Veterinary Medicine Programs, affirmed that Benha National University will continue providing community services and promoting health and cultural awareness in various regions, contributing to the development of a healthier and more informed society.
